We are seeking an extraordinary Category Manager for our prestigious OPSM, Laubman & Pank, and EYEQ brands in Australia and New Zealand. This is a 12-month position responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of initiatives to maximize sales and profit growth within the optical product category for our retail business. Successful applicants will have proven effectiveness in managing point-of-purchase drivers through in-depth category, market, and commercial understanding. This role offers an opportunity to learn all things optics and will play a pivotal role in delivering ideal product assortments to meet our local customer needs.
Requirements for Success
* Develop and implement category strategies aligned with the company's goals
* Define product positioning, pricing strategies, and promotional plans to maximize revenue and profitability
* Manage product lifecycle, including launches, refreshes, and discontinuations
* Leverage data analytics tools to monitor category performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
* Use data insights to refine strategies and improve overall performance
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing, as well as external vendors
* Maintain active range assortment meeting strategic business needs and target customer groups
* Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure optimal stock availability
* Manage budgets effectively for category initiatives
* Serve as the expert on category and customer insights for the product portfolio
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
* Minimum 3 years of experience in category management, product management, or related roles (Optical experience highly regarded)
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into strategies
* Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence stakeholders
* Proficiency in project management and task prioritization
* Familiarity with SAP and BI tools
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Sound knowledge of the Australian and New Zealand retail environment
