About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Casual Trades Assistant to join our team on the Tanking Line in Tarranyurk. In this hands-on role, you will assist tradespersons with the fabrication and assembly of steel products, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on time. You will be involved in cutting, drilling, preparing materials, and supporting across the paint and yard/dispatch areas when required. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a supportive, team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist tradespersons with assembly and fabrication of steel products.
* Cut, drill, mark out and prepare materials for fabrication.
* Safely operate hand and power tools, grinders, and other machinery.
* Move and handle steel using overhead cranes and forklifts (where licensed).
* Apply touch-up paint and assist in paint bay.
* Perform general housekeeping, maintenance, and site work as required.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
Skills and Experience
* Physically fit with good coordination and manual dexterity.
* Flexible, motivated, and willing to learn with a strong team focus.
* Genuine interest in the fabrication/manufacturing industry.
* Willingness to undertake on-the-job training and assist across different areas.
* Previous experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
* Ability to safely use material cutting equipment.
