Where you'll be working
Situated within Manning Base Hospital in the heart of Taree, the Manning Mental Health Inpatient Unit offers specialised inpatient care for individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges. As a valued member of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to delivering compassionate, recovery-focused, trauma-informed, and culturally safe care.
This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a regional health service that places a strong emphasis on professional growth, teamwork, and clinical excellence. You'll enjoy the benefits of working in a supportive environment while experiencing the lifestyle advantages of the Mid North Coast — including a more relaxed pace, affordable housing, and stunning natural surroundings.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Level 3 Social Worker at the Manning Mental Health Unit, you will play a vital role within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, bringing a psychosocial lens to care planning and delivery. Your work will focus on addressing psychosocial stressors, promoting culturally responsive and family-inclusive care, and providing expert input on complex issues such as family and domestic violence, child protection, and homelessness risk.
You'll help strengthen community connections by linking consumers with appropriate services and supports, making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
You'll be part of a small, supportive team of Social Workers within the unit, with additional professional guidance provided by a Senior Social Worker from the community team. To support your continued growth, the role includes regular clinical supervision, a structured orientation programme, and access to ongoing education and professional development.
This is a unique opportunity to advance your career in mental health social work within a team that values compassion, collaboration, and holistic, person-centred care. Here, you'll be supported, respected, and empowered to make a real difference.
