As a Mechanical Engineering Change Officer, you will be part of a thriving sector that pushes boundaries to produce innovative technology. Your role will contribute to projects of global significance that help keep Australia safe.
We are recognised for delivering complex projects that require technical and project management skills. The successful candidate will have strong foundational knowledge in mechanical engineering and excellent coordination skills between stakeholders.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Providing technical leadership and oversight within your sub-domain
* Developing a thorough understanding of ship and shore systems within your sub-domain
* Designing and developing solutions, resolving engineering issues, and presenting designs in design reviews
* Attending/conducting project meetings, design reviews, and peer reviews as required
* Ensuring all documents and artefacts are completed, reviewed, and managed according to standard procedures
You will work on the Hobart Class project, collaborating with our Maritime team. This role requires strong communication and project management skills, as well as a passion for maritime and a keen interest in developing vessels for defence.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, or Marine Engineering
* Demonstrated experience working as a mechanical engineer with experience managing projects and people
* Demonstrated experience undertaking design review and oversight activities throughout the engineering process
* The ability to communicate and operate effectively within a dynamic environment with conflicting priorities and managing multiple stakeholders
* A current NV1 Clearance or eligibility to obtain
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations
