About the Role
The Technical Support Officer works within the Faculty Operations technical team to support the Faculty's academic endeavours. The role is responsible for the safe, sustainable operation of technical equipment and facilities managed by the equipment loan centres and will contribute to the continual improvement of services supporting research, learning and teaching.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical support for the Faculty's academic activities.
* Ensure effective, safe and sustainable operation of technical equipment and facilities.
* Maintain awareness of current and emerging support requirements and contribute to service improvement.
* Collaborate with other technical staff to deliver an integrated and responsive support service, enhancing student learning experiences.
* Report to the Supervising Technician – Equipment Loans Centre for career planning, development and performance expectations.
Qualifications
* Relevant education and/or experience equivalent to an associate diploma in a related field; certificate‑level qualification with post‑certificate experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education or training.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in teams.
* Adaptability and ability to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines in a technical environment.
* Proven customer service experience with a diverse range of clients.
* Knowledge of production equipment operation across Creative Industries disciplines.
* Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and first‑line maintenance of technical equipment for the Faculty.
