Energy Power Systems Australia (EPSA) is the authorised supplier of Cat power systems in Australia, PNG, and the Solomon Islands. As a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions, EPSA provides new and used engines, generators, and hybrid energy systems for a broad range of industries.
EPSA has a large and growing Rental Solutions business unit which is a major provider of Power Generation, Air Compression and Temperature Control rental systems. The business unit as a fleet of over 1800 units, with a total replacement value of over $180M - and this fleet is deployed from 10 Branches across Australia. EPSA's 2029 Strategy involves significant further growth for this business unit, which has recently been restructured to best position for that growth.
We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Used Equipment Business Manager. This role will report directly to the Rental Assets and Central Services Manager and be a key part of the Rental Assets Team – which manages all Rental assets from 'cradle to grave' i.e. from selection, procurement, upfit/modifications, refurbishments, and disposal (sale as used equipment).
The Used Equipment Business (UEB) Manager will be fully responsible for the 'disposal' aspects (i.e. sale as used equipment) with the overall aim of maximising the commercial benefit to EPSA.
This role is opened to candidates in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth.
What you'll be doing (but not limited to):
* Manage the Used Equipment Business (UEB) to maximise profitability, working closely with teams across Fleet, Service, Marketing, and Branch Operations
* Proactively source and qualify buyers through sales representatives, digital marketing, SEO, and industry networks.
* Manage the full sales process from lead qualification and quoting to contract, payment, and logistics coordination.
* Collaborate with the Marketing team to deliver effective used equipment campaigns and continuously improve sales and marketing strategies.
* Implement and improve UEB workflows and decision models to identify equipment for resale, refurbishment, auction, or scrapping.
* Oversee equipment assessments and ensure accurate categorisation based on condition and commercial potential.
* Maintain up-to-date records in the UEB database, including specifications, condition, usage hours, location, and valuation.
* Provide input on refurbishment decisions to optimise return on investment, and ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
* Ensure all buyer interactions and sales activities are accurately tracked in Salesforce CRM.
* Regularly review and enhance UEB processes to improve efficiency and commercial outcomes.
What you'll bring:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales of used industrial equipment, particularly diesel/gas engine-driven generators, air compressors, chillers, and air handlers. You will also have proven experience working cross-functionally with teams across an organisation to ensure all elements of the Used Equipment Business (UEB) workflow are executed effectively.
In addition, you will bring:
* Demonstrated success in managing used equipment sales and asset disposal strategies.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess asset value and make data-driven decisions to maximise returns.
* Experience managing end-to-end sales processes, including lead generation, quoting, negotiation, and contract execution.
* Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce, with a structured approach to tracking sales activity and customer engagement.
* Technical understanding of industrial equipment and the ability to assess condition and refurbishment potential.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing equipment records and inventory data.
* Experience working with marketing teams to develop and execute targeted sales campaigns.
