We're partnering with a leading contractor to appoint an experienced Design Manager & Senior Design Manager to support major infrastructure projects across Queensland.
This role sits across both pre-contracts and project delivery, taking ownership of design strategy, consultant management, and design outcomes on complex Design & Construct works for government clients.
The Role You'll lead design management from tender through to delivery, working closely with construction, commercial, and planning teams to drive safe, buildable, and cost-effective solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading design strategy during tenders and live projects
Managing and mentoring Project Design Managers
Consultant selection, engagement, and performance management
Driving value engineering, constructability, and safety-in-design
Managing design risk, approvals, and scope growth
Ensuring compliance with statutory, environmental, and QA requirements
About You You'll be a senior design professional with strong D&C experience and the ability to influence outcomes across multi-disciplinary teams.
You'll bring:
Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
10+ years' experience on major civil infrastructure projects
Proven tender and delivery design management experience
Strong stakeholder and consultant management skills
Understanding of estimating and commercial drivers
RPEQ / CPEng
