Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Job Description
Capcoal Mine is a dynamic world-class operation that has an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Coordinator to join our Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) team.
Reporting to the CHPP Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for;
* Oversee planning and allocation of task activities within the CHPP area to achieve forecasted business results (including health, safety, environment, and community impacts of work).
* Assist in the development of annual electrical budgets and business plans.
* Plan and execute the business electrical strategy for monthly shutdowns.
* Assist in the development of standards, procedures, and processes in relevant functional or process area; manage the identification and implementation of improvements.
* Manage people within area of responsibility using available tools and skills to directly or indirectly influence the focus and direction provided to employees.
* Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders.
* Implement and maintain systems to deliver all CHPP operations performance, KPI targets.
* Instrumental in development of continuous improvement projects and cost reduction strategies.
* Work closely with the Reliability team, assisting with electrical reliability concerns.
About You
* Previous experience working in a similar role and working environment.
* Have sound knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
* 5 years’ experience with mineral processing plants and/ or wash plant operations
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
* A Zero harm mindset with Safety at the forefront of all activities.
* S1,2,3 and G2
* Supervisory experience
* EEM Qualifications (desirable)
* High voltage switching experience
* Degree in electrical engineering or trade-based qualifications
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of relevant mining legislation and its application.
* Proven track record in driving continuous improvement and best practices.
* High level of analytical, problem solving and coordination skills
