Overview
New Murchison Gold Limited is seeking a motivated Health and Safety Officer to join our site based HSEC team. This is a hands-on, field-focused role suited to someone who enjoys being present in operations, engaging with the workforce, and actively contributing to a strong safety culture within a mining environment.
As part of the Health, Safety, Environment & Community (HSEC) team, you will play a key role in keeping our people safe and ensuring compliance with legislative and site safety requirements. You will be supported by the HSEC Coordinator and site leadership, with access to ongoing training and development.
Key Responsibilities
* Conducting regular field inspections, hazard identification, and hazard reporting.
* Verifying and monitoring critical controls across site operations.
* Supporting incident and near-miss investigations using ICAM methodology.
* Assisting with implementation and close-out of corrective actions.
* Delivering engaging safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety interactions.
* Monitoring compliance with permits, principal hazard controls, and emergency preparedness.
* Working closely with supervisors, operators, and contractors to promote a proactive safety culture.
* Providing on-the-ground safety coaching and guidance to the workforce.
Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or relevant industry experience.
* ICAM qualification (or willingness to obtain).
* Previous experience in a site-based Health and Safety role, ideally within mining or heavy industry.
* 1–2 years of site-based mining experience preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
* WA Manual C-Class Driver's Licence.
