Our unit provides specialised care for a range of specialities including general paediatrics, orthopaedics, ENT and general surgery.
This unique opportunity allows you to gain specialist and high dependency skills whilst working in a district hospital setting, while maintaining and developing your skills through our collaborative working with the outstanding Children's Unit.

Main duties of the job Work in a dynamic and supportive environment on the Day Surgery Unit and related wards, covering various specialties.
Provide safe, compassionate care with a patient centred approach for children and their families, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans.
Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability across the Day Surgery Unit and wards.
Communicate effectively and work well within our multidisciplinary team.
Maintain a safe and caring environment, upholding quality and safety standards.

Person Specification Education, Qualification and Training NMC registration, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing, specifically in Children's Nursing QFC assessor or NMC approved mentorship qualification Experience Evidence of working/training within an acute paediatric setting Knowledge and Skills Evidence of caring and compassionate approach and managing patients with complex needs Evidence of personal and professional development Ability to assess patients and plan and evaluate their care Ability to organise own workload Evidence of a good level of clinical skills Good interpersonal skills Awareness of the importance of safeguarding Awareness of adherence to IPC policies and procedures Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) **** and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check to confirm there are no previous criminal convictions.
£31,049 to £37,796 a year (pro rata if part time)
