Toora helps women, trans women, and other feminine-identifying people living with trauma through experiencing any combination of:
* Homelessness
* Domestic violence
* Alcohol and substance dependency, or
* Connection with the corrections system.
Our current domestic violence, homelessness and AOD health treatment programs range across a variety of settings, such as crisis support, transitional or head tenancy accommodation, day programs, counselling and outreach support.
This allows us to provide holistic wrap-around, trauma-informed care within an integrated service system. We deliver these complex services within a human rights and gender sensitive framework, with advocacy at the forefront.
All services are based on a theoretical model of recovery, respect and empowerment. This includes encouraging self-help to our clients and assisting in minimizing the effects of institutional discrimination or disadvantages, and its associated harm.
About You :
* Experience in community housing or the social services sector.
* Diploma in Property Management, Diploma in Community Services (Social Housing) or equivalent
* Experience of working with women with high and complex needs, particularly with homelessness, AOD, mental health, sexual assault, domestic violence, incarceration and women from diverse backgrounds from within a feminist framework.
Position Summary :
Toora Women Inc provides safe affordable accommodation and supportive services for women with complex needs, with or without their families. The Tenancy and Property Coordinator provides day-to-day property management and service coordination for Toora residents and is responsible to ensure that all assigned properties are operated in an efficient, cost effective manner while providing high quality, well maintained housing to residents.
Key Requirements :
* Minimum two years of experience in property management or similar
* Understanding and working knowledge of housing issues and programs.
* Understanding and knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act
* Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft office and Chintaro software (and ability to learn new systems)
* Well-developed interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills

Specific Accountabilities
Reporting/Working Relationships
The Tenancy Manager reports to the CFO and works closely with the Property Officer on a day-to-day basis. This position requires the development and maintenance of strong working relationships with:
* the Finance team
* TDVHS and AOD case coordinators
* ACT Housing staff
DELIVERABLES
Property Management
* Maximize rental revenue by maintaining high occupancy and reduction of vacancy loss, bad debt loss, and concessions
* Manage daily referrals to housing properties.
* Ensure tenants have up-to-date signed occupancy agreements, c-pays and other related documents ie asbestos and energy reports.
* Liase with Housing ACT in regard to property related issues, where required.
* Ensure that the service operates within the organisational and service policies and procedures with particular focus on professional boundaries and reducing the risks of vicarious trauma
* Operate within community housing best practice which is consistent with TDVHS model of care and includes the scope of approved intervention methods.
* Assist the Executive Director to determine housing priorities and organise work tasks.
Administration
* Assist with the production of any property related reports required for Housing ACT
* Keep in contact with Housing via email regarding all inspections and outcomes
* Provide assistance on grant applications including basic research.
* Produce required reports (eg. funding reports, data analysis reports) to professional standards and within required timeframes.
* Understand all areas of computer operations to meet the needs of the job including Microsoft Office applications and Chintaro

* Attend to regular supervision and accept direction.
* Participate in performance management/appraisal activities as determined by the organisation.
* Contribute to the development of new procedures and methodology
* Supervise, mentor and/or support workers or volunteers in new roles, as required.

* Participate in meetings (including Advisory), as required.
* Represent Toora Women Inc. in a professional manner on external committees or working parties as required.
* Maintain effective, positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
Work Health Safety / Quality Improvement Systems
* Adhere to Toora Women Inc. WHS policies and procedures including self-care policy.
* Take reasonable care to protect their own health and safety at work and meet all obligations under the WHS Act 2011
* Work in accordance to relevant sector standards and participate in Toora Quality Improvement Systems and Community Housing Provider registration.
* Provide reports on progress of activities and programs including recommendations and improvements
