About The Role
We are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide life-changing therapy to NDIS participants. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. Typical responsibilities include:
* Working in diverse settings such as homes, schools, playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres
* Utilizing assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding
* Building meaningful relationships with participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
* Developing and implementing Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, using positive behaviour support frameworks
* Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
* Collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges
* Attending weekly team meetings in the Hub, sharing impact stories, and fostering team camaraderie
* Receiving support from your Team Leader and dedicated Therapy Mentor

To be a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you should have:
* A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Masters, or Graduate Diploma)
* Relevant registration, such as:
* Occupational Therapist with AHPRA registration
* Speech Pathologist with SPA registration
* Social Worker with AASW membership eligibility
* Mental Health Nurse with AHPRA registration
* Degree in Psychology, Psychological/Social Science, or related field
Additional requirements include:
* Deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (evidence of letter required)
* Minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
* A positive, flexible approach to work
* Strong communication skills and team orientation
* Commitment to personal and professional growth
* A valid Australian driver’s license
* Working with Vulnerable People Check
