The Senior Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic initiatives within an assigned portfolio of indirect sourcing categories, which include labour hire & logistics, and a lead to assist with other indirect categories of goods and services as required. This is a full-time permanent position based in Sydney.
Group Procurement operates a shared services model with a focus on providing specialist services across Downer's business units in an integrated, responsive and efficient manner. The Senior Strategic Sourcing and Category Manager is a key advisor and reports to the Group Manager Strategic Sourcing - Category Management. This integral role forms part of the Group Procurement leadership team. This team collectively is responsible for delivering a best-in-class procurement function for a large, diverse and complex organisation.
- MCIPS preferred. Engineering &/or Financial Degree
- Preferrable, Post Graduate studies Procurement, Logistics &/or Supply Chain.
- Tertiary Qualified in a Business/Commercial related degree
- Experience in a large working environment would be ideal
- 5 to 7 years experience as a Procurement Category/ Contracts / Commercial Role/s in Temp Labour/ Labour Hire sourcing and Logistics category
- Good Communication, presentation and influencing skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong problem solving / solutions development skills
- Ability to manage cross functional teams and stakeholder groups
- Ability to drive change across the business
