The AWS Public Sector Education Sales team is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive cloud adoption and revenue growth across Australia's education sector. You will partner with K-12, Higher Education, and Research institutions to implement cloud computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and associated technologies that scale and support stronger education outcomes.
This role focuses on helping educational institutions develop and implement their Digital Futures and AI Innovation strategies, positioning AWS as the primary cloud platform provider for transformational educational technology initiatives.
Key Job Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management
* Develop and execute comprehensive account and territory plans to grow revenue and deepen cloud adoption across a defined portfolio of education customers.
* Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline of opportunities in existing accounts while driving net new business.
* Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets and key performance metrics.
* Build and cultivate long‐term strategic relationships with key stakeholders including C‐level executives, academic leaders, IT directors, and procurement teams.
Customer Engagement & Value Creation
* Create and articulate compelling value propositions around cloud transformation, AI innovation, and education‐specific use cases.
* Accelerate customer adoption through education and engagement on cloud and AI technologies.
* Assist customers in identifying priority use cases for adoption of AWS cloud services and AI/ML solutions tailored to education outcomes.
* Conduct discovery sessions and deliver presentations to technical and non‐technical audiences, including senior leadership.
Collaboration & Execution
* Work strategically with AWS consulting and technology partners to manage joint selling opportunities and deliver scale.
* Collaborate with internal cross‐functional teams including Solutions Architects, Professional Services, Partners, and Support to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
* Advocate for customer interests while aligning with AWS business needs.
* Review sales metrics and data from accounts to continuously evolve strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 5+ years of direct sales or business development in software, cloud or SaaS markets selling to C‐level executives.
* Experience and track record of exceeding sales goals.
* Experience creating and implementing long‐term transformational account strategies in a customer‐facing role or equivalent.
* Experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
* Experience in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive).
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
* Proven experience working with education sector customers (K‐12, Higher Education, or Research institutions).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience implementing a cloud‐based technology solution, or experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
* Knowledge of AWS or the cloud computing industry.
* AWS Associate level certification or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
* Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
* Knowledge of education sector challenges, funding models, and procurement processes.
* Knowledge of key technology and market trends impacting education.
* Demonstrated ability to work with academic stakeholders and understand research and teaching requirements.
