Chisholm is seeking a Senior Project Officer – Vocational Qualifications & Skills Reform (VQSR) to help shape the training products that support Victorian learners, industries and communities as part of the Common Funding Agreement (CFA) between Chisholm and the Victorian Government, through the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA).
Full time, fixed term position on offer until 31/12/2027.
About The Role
As a Senior Project Officer – VQSR at Chisholm Institute, you will deliver core services under the CFA with the Victorian Skills Authority, advising on national Training Packages, drafting Victorian Purchasing Guides (VPGs), and stewarding state-owned accredited courses.
This role provides high-level technical and policy advice relating to national training packages, Victorian Purchasing Guides (VPGs), and accredited courses. The position works closely with government, Jobs and Skills Councils (JSCs), industry and education stakeholders to support quality, consistency and reform across the Victorian VET system.
This role ensures compliance with the Higher Education and Workforce Grant Program and focuses on key deliverables:
Provide expert advice on Training Package development and implementation.Prepare Victorian Purchasing Guides for approval.Share insights and advice on VET matters.Maintain and monitor Crown Copyright Accredited Courses.
Key Responsibilities Include-
Provide expert advice on Training Package development and implementation, advocating for Victorian industry needs.Develop and update Victorian Purchasing Guides (VPGs) to ensure accuracy and compliance.Share intelligence and technical advice on VET matters, supporting innovation and policy development.Maintain and monitor Crown Copyright Accredited Courses, including reviews and reaccreditation projects.Manage projects and deliverables ensuring timely, evidence-based outcomes.Build strong relationships with government, industry, Jobs and Skills Councils, and internal stakeholders.Contribute to education and digital innovation initiatives aligned with Chisholm’s strategic goals.
About You
You will be an active member of the Academic Excellence and Innovation team. In addition to providing core service deliverables, you will also assist the team with operational tasks driving the success of the department through building a sense of shared purpose and direction towards achieving Chisholm Institute's vision.
You bring experience in the VET sector, strong communication skills, and the confidence to work with diverse stakeholders to influence positive outcomes. Additionally, you will also have-
Demonstrated experience in vocational education and training, training package development, skills reform or accredited coursesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilityWell-developed written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with complex stakeholders, including government and industryThe ability to operate with autonomy, manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesDemonstrated ability to conduct research, prepare reports and conduct presentations.
Qualifications Required For The Role
Relevant Degree and relevant post graduate qualification and experience; orLesser formal qualifications with extensive experience with management expertise in vocational education and training; or Equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education /training.It would be desirable if you also hold a Certificate IV in Training and Development.
