What We Are Looking For
We are seeking two motivated and experienced
Water Industry Team Leaders
to lead frontline teams delivering the construction, maintenance, and operation of Council's water and sewerage infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for qualified civil construction professionals or licensed plumbers with strong supervisory skills, a safety-first mindset, and a passion for community service.
What Your Day Will Look Like
* Supervise and coordinate water/sewer construction and maintenance
* Oversee safe and efficient operation of plant and machinery
* Mentor and guide apprentices, trainees, and field staff
* Manage daily work plans, resourcing, and on-site safety
* Ensure compliance with industry legislation and Council standards
* Contribute to emergency response and defect investigations

Qualifications
* Certificate III (AQF Level 3 or above) in Civil Construction or equivalent experience in the water/wastewater industry and relevant to the role's responsibilities
* General Construction Induction (White Card)
* Current Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus immunisations (or ability to readily acquire)
* Certificate III (AQF Level 3 or above) relevant trade qualifications e.g. (Licenced Plumber/Drainer).
* Additional 24 points or a minimum of additional 10 modules, of relevant structured training from another trade or post-trade or completion of competency assessment
* Experience in the water/wastewater industry
* General Construction Induction (White Card)
* Current Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus immunisations (or ability to readily acquire)
Licences
* MR Driver's Licence or ability to obtain within 3 months
* MR Driver's Licence or ability to obtain within 3 months
What's Nice To Have
* Certificate III in Water Industry Operations
* Confined Space and First Aid certifications
* Current plant competencies (bobcat, excavator, backhoe)
* Experience preparing quotes or defect reports
