RSL Queensland (RSLQ) is the largest ex-service organisation in Queensland – providing practical support, assistance and camaraderie to veterans, current serving Defence members, and their families across the state and nationally.
The Veteran Services department strives to provide all veterans and their families with a streamlined, supportive and empowering experience after leaving the Australian Defence Force.
Now, a little about the role:
The Centre Coordinator connects current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members and their families to services offered through the Veteran & Family Wellbeing Centres and outreach programs. The role actively promotes programs to client groups to encourage uptake of holistic veteran health services. Reporting to the VFWC Manager and is accountable for being a part of the VFWC Operations team, key accountabilities include (though are not limited to):
* providing welcoming, respectful, and inclusive support to veterans, families, and community members
* planning, facilitating, and evaluating social connection and wellbeing activities delivered within the Centre/outreach locations
* supporting the delivery of community/stakeholder engagement events to enhance belonging and recovery
* supporting our Client Intake Team and Allied Health Practice Manager with client record management and administrative workflows
* assisting with scheduling, activity bookings, resource coordination, and maintaining documentation and data entry with accuracy
* collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated service delivery
* building positive relationships with veterans, families, peers, volunteers and sub branches, and more...
What's required to succeed:
* experience in coordinating events, including logistics, setup, promotion, and post-event review
* experience and ability to promote services and events internally and externally through various channels and platforms
* solid computer skills, including the use of the MS Office suite
* strong verbal, written, interpersonal, negotiation, networking, partnering and relationship management skills
* proven ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across the business functions, and participate in a positive working environment
* ability to lift 10-12 kgs and perform light manual tasks
* Working with Children card (or be eligible to obtain)
* QLD "C" or equivalent per state driver's licence and capacity to attend planned events after hours and weekends as required.
Please note: construction of our new VFWC Ipswich is underway so this position will be temporarily based at a Goodna location until mid-year.
