About the role We have two Ranger positons available at our Warrnambool and Portland sites. As a Ranger at Parks Victoria, you could be working across a diverse range of tasks and activities, all of which are aimed at preserving our parks, engaging with the community and hands-on maintenance of our facilities. Our Parks are located across the state and provide different services to visitors - your responsibilities can include: * conservation program delivery * maintainance of our infrastructure * delivery of education programs * engagement with local community groups * working with Traditional Owners in joint management arrangements You will be playing a key role in delivering across a variety of projects ad-hoc practical tasks that are essential in keeping our Parks open, safe and clean. We're looking for someone with * Relevant skills for the on-ground management of our Parks, such as trade skills, outdoor education and community engagement, or qualifications across environmental science, natural resource management or conservation and land management * Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive team environment * Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal communication, including the ability to explain concepts to people of different backgrounds and to engage constructively with colleagues and stakeholders * The ability to work constructively with members of the public, volunteer groups and park visitors About Parks Victoria Parks Victoria is responsible for managing a diverse estate of more than 4 million hectares including 3,000 land and marine parks and reserves making up 18 per cent of Victoria's landmass, 75 per cent of Victoria's wetlands and 70 per cent of Victoria's coastline.
