Business Analyst | Senior Associate/Manager | Tax Technology
Shape the future of tax through automation and AI
We've been building the next generation of technology-enabled tax services at PwC Australia — and Tax Automate is at the heart of it. We're looking for a high-performing Business Analyst to join the Tax & Legal technology team and play a critical role in scaling Tax Automate across our practice. If you're passionate about improving how we work, excited by automation and AI, and ready to influence change at scale, this role is for you. This is not a traditional "document requirements and step away" BA role — you'll be embedded in delivery, experimentation, and scaling. The role is an opportunity to help transform the delivery model of both Tax & Legal and the wider firm. You'll sit at the intersection of tax expertise, technology, and transformation — with real visibility across the firm.
Why join the Tax Technology team?
* Real impact – Help redefine how tax is delivered at PwC Australia
* Strategic visibility – Work closely with members of the Tax & Legal leadership team
* Future‐focused – Be at the forefront of automation and AI in professional services
* Career acceleration – Build product, digital, and transformation capability in a high‐priority growth area

What you'll do:
* Partner with Tax stakeholders (Partners, Directors, Managers) to identify automation opportunities across compliance, reporting, and advisory workflows
* Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and solution designs
* Work closely with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver scalable automation solutions
* Help shape the product roadmap and prioritise features based on impact and feasibility
* Drive adoption by supporting pilots, change enablement, and practice rollout
* Contribute to the broader AI and digital transformation agenda within Tax & Legal
* Design workflow automation for tax compliance processes
* Define data models and business rules for standardised tax calculations
* Support integration of the Tax Automate product with client systems and internal platforms
* Help embed AI‐enabled review and quality controls into tax delivery
* Analyse process performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities
What we're looking for:
* A strong understanding of business processes (compliance, reporting, or advisory)
* The ability to translate complex business problems into structured requirements
* Strong stakeholder management skills – you're confident engaging Partners and delivery teams
* Curiosity about automation, data, and AI (technical depth not required, but mindset is essential)
* A bias toward action and comfort working in evolving environments
* Experience with tools such as workflow platforms, low‐code automation, data platforms, or product delivery frameworks is a bonus — but not mandatory.
* Professional services experience is preferred but tax experience is not required.
What you'll gain:
* A supportive, inclusive culture where your ideas and perspective are welcomed from day one.
* Access to tailored learning programs designed to develop your skills and unlock your potential.
* Clear paths for career progression supported by continuous learning and leadership development.
* The opportunity to work with leading organisations and cutting‐edge technology that challenge and expand your expertise.
* Four weeks of annual leave plus floating public holidays & birthday leave giving you the space to rest and recharge.
* Health and lifestyle perks, including wellness benefits and discounted memberships to support your wellbeing from the start.
* Generous leave entitlements including four weeks' annual leave and float public holidays to support your work‐life balance.
* Free barista‐made morning coffee and tea.
