Chamber NT is seeking a Membership Coordinator based in Alice Springs to support and grow our Central Australia business community.
This role is ideally suited to someone with strong connections to Alice Springs and the local business community, or someone who has lived and worked in the region and understands how business operates in Central Australia.
Working closely with the Head of Central Australia, this role plays an important part in strengthening member engagement, delivering business events, and supporting regional business committees across Central Australia and the Barkly region.
The role is varied and hands‐on. One day you may be helping a new business connect with other members, the next you may be coordinating a Business at Sunset networking event or preparing committee papers for a regional meeting.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to build strong relationships across the Central Australian business community and play a meaningful role in supporting local businesses and shaping the region's economic future.
Local knowledge, community credibility, and an understanding of the unique dynamics of Alice Springs business life will be highly valued in this role.
Key Responsibilities Member Engagement
* Build strong relationships with Chamber NT members across Central Australia.
* Welcome and onboard new members and support membership renewals.
* Connect members with relevant Chamber NT programs, services, and opportunities.
* Maintain accurate member records within the Chamber NT CRM system.
Events & Community Engagement
* Support the delivery of local events including Business at Sunset, Women in Business events, workshops, and awards programs.
* Coordinate logistics including venues, catering, registrations, and event support.
* Work with the Chamber NT Events Team to ensure successful delivery of events.
* Assist with regional business roundtables and networking opportunities.
Committee & Governance Support
* Provide secretariat support to the Central Australia and Barkly Regional Executive Committees.
* Prepare agendas, meeting papers, and minutes.
* Track action items and ensure follow‐up actions are completed.
Administration & Operations
* Maintain CRM data for members and events.
* Assist with member administration and internal reporting.
* Assist with financial coordination including invoices and reconciliations.
* Support visiting Chamber NT staff and stakeholders when required.
* Help ensure the Alice Springs office provides a welcoming and professional environment for members.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
* Enjoys working with people and supporting local business.
* Ideally has strong connections within the Alice Springs community and understands the local business environment.
* Is organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
* Has strong communication skills and enjoys building professional relationships across the community.
* Is confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems such as CRM databases.
* Can represent the Chamber confidently at business events and meetings.
Experience in administration, customer service, events, stakeholder engagement, or working with local organisations would be highly regarded.
People with established ties to Alice Springs, Central Australia, or the Territory business community are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
* Current Northern Territory Driver Licence.
* Willingness to attend events outside standard business hours when required.
* Willingness to travel within Central Australia, including Tennant Creek.
* Based in Alice Springs or already established in the Central Australian community.
