The CMM Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all manufactured and incoming components meet dimensional and quality specifications through the use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other precision measuring equipment.
The position will also assist in improving Quality Control processes, achieving this through the utilisation of equipment, software and techniques, utilising lean techniques developing process controls.
You will inspect products and materials in accordance with technical drawings and customer standards, monitor quality standards for all manufactured products and provide accurate feedback.
Working as part of a team and being a positive communicator will ensure that we are building a collaborative work environment.
An Engineering Degree, Diploma or demonstratable relevant work experience will have you succeeding in the position.
This position will require a police check and pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol screening to be undertaken during the recruitment process.
Your Day | Your Week
Set up and operate CMM machines using software such as PC-DMIS, VDMIS, or similar.
Perform dimensional inspections on complex components, assemblies, and tooling according to engineering drawings, GD&T standards, and customer specifications.
Verify conformance using precision measuring instruments including micrometres, callipers, height gauges, and surface plates.
Document inspection results accurately and maintain traceable quality records in accordance with ISO **** and AS**** requirements.
Analyse CMM and inspection data to identify trends and root causes of non-conformance.
Prepare and present inspection reports, control charts, and capability studies (where required).
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to address dimensional or process deviations.
