Job Description:
As a Fire Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our community through fire prevention and education. You will work closely with other emergency services to respond to fires and other emergencies, such as motor vehicle accidents or chemical hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct community fire safety work to educate residents on fire prevention and safety
* Attend fires and other emergencies, such as motor vehicle accidents or chemical hazards
* Collaborate with other emergency services, such as NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, and NSW Police
* Participate in community education programs to teach school children, senior citizens, and local businesses about fire safety and prevention
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure. You should also be adaptable, reliable, and available to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays and weekends.
Benefits:
As a Fire Safety Officer, you will receive payment for attendance at incidents, training sessions, community safety activities, and education events. You must live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station.
Working Conditions:
This role requires you to be physically fit and able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during emergency responses. You may also be required to work in hot and hazardous environments.
