A unique opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / or Assistant Accountant to join a values‑based organisation that plays a key role in supporting a diverse community network. Key Responsibilities
Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and payroll processes, providing backup where required.
Prepare accruals, prepayments, and general ledger journals.
Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts and address variances.
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year‑end reporting, including variance analysis.
Prepare statutory submissions such as BAS and FBT.
Maintain the fixed asset register.
Support budgeting processes and year‑end audit requirements.
Manage regular invoicing, cost allocations, and revenue distributions.
Act as the primary finance contact for community entities on a wide range of financial matters.
Support continuous improvement in financial sustainability and business systems.
About You
You will be a motivated, detail‑focused accounting professional with:
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting.
* Minimum 5-7 years' experience in Australian accounting roles, including GL accounting.
* Strong skills across reconciliations, journals, budgeting, reporting and compliance.
* Intermediate–advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (Xero and MYOB preferred).
* High attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including supporting non‑finance stakeholders.
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.
* Alignment to the organisation's values and commitment to working respectfully with a broad community.
