Our Family and Friends Service is a new initiative supporting families, carers and friends of people with alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues across NSW.
The Case Worker plays a vital role in providing remote support to families and carers, empowering them to assist in their loved one's recovery, engage in treatment planning, and access their own support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver education, information, psychosocial interventions, assessments, case management, and group work to families, carers and friends affected by AOD use via telehealth.
* Collaborate effectively with Adult and Youth AOD Services, ensuring strong cross-service communication and support.
* Develop, monitor and review individual goal plans, maintaining accurate records, reports and data in line with case planning procedures.
* Provide training and capacity building to staff on engaging and supporting families, carers, and friends.
* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and service innovation, maintaining a high standard of care.
Requirements:
* Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).
* Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
* Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.
* At least two years' experience in recovery, if applicable.
* Sound computer literacy.
* Ability to work effectively remotely through a telehealth platform.
* Ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.
* Ability to develop and tailor programs to meet participants' needs.
