**Job description**
Our client, a Federal Government Agency, is looking for an
**APS6 Finance Officers / Finance Modeller **who can provide detailed
**technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice** in relation to complex problems. Its a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing work-flows of a team.
**Key responsibilities of the role include**:
- ** Analysing and interpreting statistical reports** to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
- Collaborating with s**takeholders to resolve issues** and ensure effective and **timely implementation of projects**.
- Coordinating and providing **cost estimates** for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
- Developing **correspondence for stakeholders**, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
- Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
- Managing **quality assurance activities** and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
- Preparing a range of written material including **business cases**, reports and corporate documentation.
- Undertaking **quality assurance** of feasibility and **cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.**:
- Undertaking detailed **financial analysis** of branch/division's **variance to budget and forecast.**:
- Undertaking** financial administration **and across the division's cost centres and projects, including budgets, monitoring, forecasting and accruals.
- Develop / maintain models and contribute to the implementation of CFO Group Modelling framework ensuring consistency and reliability of the models.
- Development of presentations to Senior Leadership inclusive of key conclusions, risks, and scenarios
**Skills and Experience**:
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant academic qualification/s with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA), or other equivalent professional finance bodies.
- Extensive direct finance modelling experience performing and delivering complex financial and governance outcomes
