Across our mills at Broadwater and Condong, and our co-located mill and refinery at Harwood, our teams work together to turn locally grown sugarcane into products enjoyed by customers across Australia.
With the recent appointment of Sunshine Sugar’s new CEO, the business is entering an exciting period of transformation and reinvention and is seeking to appoint a highly experienced Operations Manager. Reporting to the CEO, the primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable execution of operational activities on site, requiring effective leadership and engagement of site teams, and wider stakeholder groups, to achieve our operational excellence and key strategic objectives.
Key deliverables include:
* Driving a strong work culture of Workplace Health and Safety throughout the site for all teams, contractors and stakeholders, embedding a genuine health and safety ethos.
* Operations leadership including driving performance against KPIs pertaining to production, plant, people, financial and technical.
* Stakeholder management across a wide internal and external group ensuring reporting and communication is sound and timely.
* Drive agreed strategies to achieve plant performance targets and supply chain optimisation.
* Oversight and development of the site operating and capital budgeting process.
* Lead compliance monitoring and performance metrics.
* Future proofing the business by building team capability across multiple disciplines
* Comply with Environmental Management Plans while managing capital and maintenance priorities.
* Ensured accreditations are maintained.
To be considered for this rare opportunity within the Northern Rivers region you will be:
* Tertiary qualified mechanical, electrical or chemical engineer or similar qualification in a like discipline such as science or operations management
* Proven people leadership experience across a broad mix of stakeholders.
* Proven experience in high risk, heavy industry environments such as mining, manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness or operational processing.
* Possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written across a broad stakeholder group
* Consistently ‘walk the talk’ on health and safety engagement.
