Modular Switchboards Product Manager - Electrical Products
The Product Manager is responsible for developing and implementing APS strategic plan to successfully support customers, attain business growth/marketing penetration for the Modular Switchboard product range.
Key objectives for this role will be working with APS & key supplier leadership, sales team, and Product Management to:
* Drive Market Growth and Share
* Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
* Develop and execute product strategies to increase market penetration and gain competitive advantage in key sectors
Support Sales Enablement and Customer Solutions
* Provide technical training, tools, and materials to support the sales and distribution network.
* Act as a product expert, helping to tailor switchgear solutions to customer applications (e.g. Switchboard Builders, Panel Builders, OEMs, Electrical Contractors, Consultants).
Manage Product Lifecycle and Portfolio
* Oversee the introduction, maintenance, and phase-out of products based on market demand, technological advancement, and profitability.
* Collaborate with global or regional teams to localise the portfolio for Australian conditions.
Ensure Regulatory and Standards Compliance
* Maintain product alignment with Australian standards (e.g. AS/NZS 61439) and electrical safety regulations.
* Liaise with industry bodies and ensure all products meet energy, safety, and performance requirements across all states and territories.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Facilitating and driving for the achievement of budgeted sales and margin performance for the agreed product groups and business segments.
* Actively involved in preparing and finalising budgets for the product stream with good analysis and justification, in conjunction with sales staff and the Electrical Products Business Unit Manager.
* Compile reports, analyse, make recommendations, and take corrective action for any performance gaps of the product groups.
The successful candidate will have:
* Exposure to Electrical Industrial business.
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of AS/NZS 61439.
* Experience in designing and assembling LV switchboards.
* Strong local industry professional network.
* Strong business acumen.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office packages.
