The program The Red Cross Aged & Community Care programs strengthen social bonds and enhance quality of life for older and vulnerable Australians through a suite of services: Telecross Telechat Visiting Volunteers Meal Delivery Transport Social Support Client reviews While on student placement within Aged and Community Care team, you will work behind the scenes to ensure these programs run smoothly, handling essential coordination and clerical tasks that keep our volunteers and clients connected. You will help identify areas of success and opportunities for improvement, ensuring that the services we offer are aligned with the needs of those we support. The opportunity We are seeking organised, reliable and personable candidates who enjoy helping people and can relate to and empathise with a broad range of people, including those with different lived experiences, abilities, and cultures. Key Requirements and Your Commitment: Be willing to join a nationwide team delivering social inclusion program within Aged and Community Care. Strong customer-service and administrative skills (data entry, appointment scheduling, phone/email correspondence). Highly developed verbal and written communication skills Competency in computer skills and ability to use and/or willingness to learn the systems that the program you are engaging in requires. Observe and learn from experienced and trained staff in delivery of Programs. Respect the privacy, rights, and dignity of clients and maintain confidentiality with respect to information obtained during the delivery of service. Record timely and appropriate documentation of your interactions with clients and volunteers. Maintain clear professional relationships and respect clear boundaries to safeguard the well-being of the client and yourself. Participate in mandatory learning and development. Commit to upholding the principles outlined in the Aged Care Code of Conduct and any subsequent updates. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity by respecting diverse backgrounds and ensuring that all interactions are inclusive and free from discrimination. The impact While on student placement, you will be part of the Red Cross Aged and Community Care team that works to support older and vulnerable people across Australia through a range of volunteer-based programs. Your efforts will directly contribute to delivering essential, reliable and timely programs in the community. You will have the opportunity to learn from many people’s diverse history and knowledge, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to others. Application requirements: All Student Placements will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through Red Cross. Any additional checks as required by your state/territory (e.g. Working with Vulnerable People Check, Working with Children’s Check, proof of COVID-19 vaccination, etc.) will be notified during your onboarding. Statutory Declaration to be completed if you have been a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than Australia after turning 16 years of age.
