Requirements
* At least three years of relevant experience.
* Must have a trade certificate.
* Read, write, and understand English.
* Must be able to:
o Read technical drawings.
o Design and fabricate sheetmetal products, such as HVAC ducting, cladding including lobster-backs, piping, and tubing.
o Use bench top tools and equipment.
o Use hand tools.
o Use machine tools for ductwork manufacture.
o Weld stainless steel ductwork (TIG/MIG).
o Stick weld metal (light fabrication).
o Use CNC Vulcan / Camduct for ductwork entry into the computer.
o Use a drafting package.
o Have basic computer literacy skills.
o Take site measures.
o Obtain a police clearance / defence clearance.
o Pour polyurethane foam insulation for pipework cladding.
* Additional advantageous skills include:
o Using the balometer for air balancing.
o Understanding the SMACNA standards related to ductwork manufacture.
