Level B - $124,656 to $148,023 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% super

These three Research Fellowships are tailored for early career researchers, offering a unique platform to develop your research career whilst making significant contributions to chronic disease.

These positions are suitable for clinician scientists or scientists who are working in chronic diseases.


You may have the opportunity to :

Conduct innovative research and provide academic leadership

Engage with healthcare partners to advance medical knowledge

Supervise higher degree research students

Collaborate with researchers nationally and internationally

Contribute to the development of your field through clinical partnerships

These roles present an exceptional chance to shape the future of clinical research whilst developing your career in a supportive and dynamic environment.


Your responsibilities will include :

Lead Research Projects : Spearhead or co-lead research initiatives, collaborate on research activities, and secure funding in multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites.

Secure Funding and Publish : Gain funding as a chief or co-investigator on competitive grants and produce influential publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Supervise and Mentor : Guide research higher degree students, honours students, and Medical Doctor Discovery Program participants, fostering their engagement in professional networks.

Engage with Stakeholders : Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government, business, community, and alumni to foster collaboration and research outcomes.


You may be a great fit :

You are a qualified researcher with a PhD, holding a clinical, scientific or honorary appointment at Austin Health, demonstrating significant contributions to independent and team-based research in chronic disease.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in attracting research funding and to national-level research in your field.


You may also :

Have a strong, independent publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.

Demonstrate success in obtaining research funding and writing research grants.

Possess experience in effective supervision of higher degree and post-doctoral research students.

Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.

Be an ethical scholar who values diversity and works effectively with individual differences.

Exhibit high-level written and oral communication skills in academic and applied environments.
