Job Summary

About The Role

Reporting to the Manager EAL, the Education Manager EAL provides operational leadership and educational management across EAL programs within the Foundation area.

You will lead a team of teaching staff, oversee program delivery, manage staffing and resource planning, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality student outcomes while ensuring alignment with Melbourne Polytechnic policies, the Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement 2024 and the 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs).

This is a full-time ongoing opportunity based at the Epping campus.

What You'll Do
* Provide educational leadership and direction across EAL programs
* Lead, coach and manage teaching staff, including workforce planning, recruitment, induction and performance development
* Oversee program planning, timetabling, staff allocation and operational delivery
* Monitor student progress, outcomes and compliance reporting
* Manage budgets, resources and program financial performance in partnership with the Department Manager
* Ensure compliance with VET regulatory requirements, quality standards and internal governance frameworks
* Lead continuous improvement activities including validation, moderation and course review processes
* Engage with industry, community organisations and key internal stakeholders to support program growth and relevance
* Manage student and staff matters in accordance with Melbourne Polytechnic policies
Essential
* Demonstrated educational leadership experience within EAL or Foundation programs
* Significant experience working within the relevant industry as a specialist matter expert in EAL
* Proven ability to lead and manage a team to deliver high‐quality educational outcomes
* Strong understanding of vocational education and training quality, compliance and regulatory requirements
* Highly developed interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Demonstrated organisational and operational management capability

Qualifications & Mandatory Checks

Appointment to this position is subject to meeting the qualification requirements (where applicable) and the successful completion of all mandatory employment checks.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the qualification requirements under the Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement and relevant regulatory standards.

This Includes
* A higher‐level qualification (AQF6+) in Adult Education or Vocational Education and Training
* A qualification relevant to courses offered within the EAL program portfolio
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or TAE40110)
* A relevant teaching diploma or higher‐level qualification containing supervised practicum (for non‐vocational disciplines such as AMEP, LLN, SEE, VCE VM or Foundation Studies where applicable)

Appointment to this position is subject to the successful completion of all mandatory employment checks.

You Must Hold, Or Be Eligible To Obtain
* A valid Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee)
* A National Police Check
