We are looking for a
Chef de service, Analyse comparative
to coordinate all internal and external benchmarking activities across RioProjects. You will manage the benchmarking framework and related reporting for RioProjects, ensuring we maximise value from our data.
Reporting to the
General Manager, Practices and Improvement, Projects
, you will work within a collaborative community to oversee the performance benchmarking framework and reporting. Benchmarking covers team development, front-end loading, ramp-up, and cost and schedule performance. Responsibilities include:
Performance Improvement: Enable MDs, GMs and Project Managers to compare project performance within Rio Tinto and against industry standards, identify improvement areas, and boost efficiency and productivity.
Strategic Planning: Provide benchmarking tools to help set realistic goals and develop data-driven strategic plans, aligning projects with similar successful initiatives.
Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly assessing performance and implementing changes based on benchmarking data.
Process Standardization and Optimization: Compare processes (e.g., study durations) with industry leaders to streamline project processes, reduce bottlenecks, and develop robust global data and benchmarking processes to track compliance and optimise internal data.
Engagement: Collaborate with engineering, estimation, planning, project controls, operations and other SMEs to integrate data into the benchmarking framework. Manage engagements with external benchmarking forums and consultants.
Your Contribution
Commitment to safety for yourself and your team.
Experience in benchmarking or performance analysis of projects, including collaboration with external companies such as IPA.
Ability to use benchmarking data to inform project- and portfolio-level decisions.
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to translate technical information into actionable insights.
Experience creating or maintaining PowerBI reports.
Experience working with external partners such as IPA on benchmarking assessments.
If applying for Montréal-based role, fluency in French and English (spoken and written). International collaboration is common.
