**Who we are**
Emissions Reduction Division develops and implements Australia's domestic policies and programs to get (and keep) Australia on track to at least 43 per cent reductions in emissions (vs 2005 levels) by 2030, and net zero by 2050. Our work spans the economy, with particular focus on the industrial, transport, agricultural and land sectors, and we work closely with colleagues in the Energy group. Our strategies and advice are complemented by the division's oversight and policy advice for the Clean Energy Regulator. The Division also delivers the National Greenhouse Accounts and emissions projections. These inform the design and track the effectiveness of domestic climate action and progress towards our targets.

The Land and Transport Branch provides advice and analysis on policy and implements programs related to emissions reduction in the land, agriculture and transport sectors. This includes emissions reduction policy in the agriculture and land sector, including through improving soil carbon storage and measurement, research and development on options to reduce emissions from livestock, and programs to support farmers and land managers make informed decisions about reducing emissions and storing carbon.

The Agriculture and Livestock Emissions Reduction team provides advice on policies and programs to support emissions reductions in the agriculture sector. The team's work includes contributing to the development of the Agriculture and Land Sector Decarbonisation Plan to support Australia's Net Zero Plan, delivering the Carbon Farming Outreach Program and the Methane Emissions Reduction in Livestock program. The Soils and Vegetation team provides policy advice on reducing or avoiding greenhouse gas emissions from, and sequestering carbon in, forest and land sectors. The team also contributes to development of the Agriculture and Land Sector Decarbonisation Plan. Its work includes delivering the National Soil Carbon Innovation Challenge.

**The Job**
The Agriculture and Livestock Emissions Reduction team is seeking to fill a number of roles to support the delivery of the Carbon Farming Outreach Program. The roles are varied, with a focus on project/contract management, communication and stakeholder engagement.

The Soils and Vegetation team has a vacancy for a role providing policy analysis and advice on reducing land sector emissions and contributing to delivery of programs supporting improved soil carbon measurement and data. The Carbon Farming Outreach Program aims to support Australian farmers and land managers to reduce emissions and store carbon and help play their part in Australia's transition to net zero emissions. We are seeking to build on our small, dynamic team to deliver on the Australian Government's commitment to expand the Carbon Farming Outreach Program, announced in the 2024-25 Budget as part of a suite of investments to support emissions reduction in the agriculture and land sectors.

The Agriculture and Livestock Emissions Reduction team is working the program expansion with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), to:

- provide additional train-the-trainer sessions to trusted agricultural and land management advisers, including across a range of Commonwealth programs
- establish a 'knowledge bank' with new tailored resources for farmers and land managers, including tailored resources for First Nations land managers. DCCEEW is leading on the design and early delivery of the program expansion and transitioning the program to DAFF from mid-2025.

In the Agriculture and Livestock Emissions Reduction team, the successful applicants' responsibilities include:

- Program and project management support
- Undertaking qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform program design and implementation, and related government policy
- Research, drafting and preparing content to be published in the knowledge bank or other communications materials
- Supporting engagement with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Undertaking procurement and supporting contract management.
