Job Description
ASP Contracting Australia Pty Ltd We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical engineering projects. This role will involve assisting with design, documentation, estimation, and project coordination activities in line with engineering standards and project requirements.
Benefits Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to work on a variety of engineering projects Career development and progression opportunities On-site parking Task & responsibilities Assist in preparing cost estimates, materials lists, and resource requirements for engineering projects Produce detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, including 3D modelling Maintain technical documentation, equipment specifications, and standardised designs Compile and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for fabricated components and equipment Conduct quality inspections and assist with testing to ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications Support the implementation of design improvements and manufacturing processes Assist engineers with technical analysis, design reviews, and feasibility assessments Monitor project progress and assist with scheduling of tasks and deliverables Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify technical requirements and support project delivery Qualification & experience Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Technical, or related field) or equivalent Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or similar CAD software Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Experience or exposure to construction, piling, or in-ground works (desirable) Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (desirable) Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment Willingness to learn and develop technical skills About Company ASP Contracting Australia Pty Ltd is a well-established piling and dewatering contractor operating across the east coast of Australia.
