A high-profile defence program is seeking a Contract Reliability Test Engineer to lead and execute reliability and durability trials for military vehicles. This field-based role, near Geelong, involves hands-on testing under extreme operational conditions to ensure system performance and longevity.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, and conduct field-based reliability and durability tests.
* Monitor vehicle systems and collect performance data in real time.
* Analyse data to identify failure modes and recommend improvements.
* Liaise with engineering, manufacturing, and testing teams.
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols and test procedures.
Required Experience
* Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Systems Engineering.
* 3-5+ years in reliability or durability testing (defence, automotive, or heavy machinery sectors preferred).
* Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and environmental testing standards.
* Proficient in data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Excel.
* Excellent troubleshooting and reporting skills.
* Comfortable working in rugged, outdoor environments with some travel.
