This role sits within a Microsoft cloud migration factory model, where you will provide architectural leadership for end-to-end Azure analytics platforms—guiding customers from legacy environments to modern Data Lakehouse and Fabric-based architectures. You will define standards, design scalable data platforms, and provide hands-on oversight across ingestion, transformation, analytics, and governance layers.
About the Role
Architect and deliver enterprise-scale Azure analytics solutions across Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
Responsibilities
* Design and govern end-to-end data architectures covering ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics.
* Build and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse, with CI/CD automation.
* Provide architectural oversight across data modelling, performance optimisation, cost management, and security.
* Partner with delivery teams, data engineers, and analysts within a factory model to accelerate cloud migration outcomes.
* Implement data governance, security, and privacy controls aligned to enterprise and government standards.
* Produce architecture artefacts, reference designs, and transformation roadmaps aligned to CAF and WAF.
Qualifications
* Active NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance.
* 10+ years' experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Cloud Analytics.
Required Skills
* Deep expertise across Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric.
* Strong background in data modelling, data warehousing, and analytics platform design.
* Experience supporting large-scale cloud migrations and operating within structured delivery or factory models.
* Solid understanding of cloud governance, security, and enterprise architecture principles.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical design into business outcomes.
