**Cost controller**

**About the Role**
- Assist in managing and updating the project cost forecasts for the current financial year and the Estimate at Completion for the project life cycle on time per reporting calendar aligned to the Transport Investment Plan. In addition, assist in managing project's cost management and control interface requirements with Client Divisions and Corporate Services Finance teams.
- Provide appropriate time phasing for the financial year and project life forecast aligned to the project schedule and procurement plan and in consultation with the project planners, project commercial team and other project performance and project management team members as required.
- Support the administration of the project's change control process and development of project's internal resource forecast and reconciliation of resource costs charged to the project through IP time-sheeting system.
- Ensure that the project cost data is captured accurately and is reflective of the current commercial and cost position of the project including statuses of approved changes, remaining contingency, risk and opportunities forecast, commitments, actual costs to date and estimated cost to complete.
- Provide detailed regular and ad-hoc cost performance reports for the project performance team and the wider project team as requested.
- Prepare and review monthly accruals and cost recoveries, budget reallocations and transfers per approved change orders and produce project accruals reports. In addition, support project closure in the systems upon completion of the project, ensuring all cost transactions are finalised and complete.

**Preferred skills/qualities**:
- CPA or CA
- Strong track record in a similar sector, must be construction/infrastructure/civil engineering related
- Large complex project Mill - Bill forecasting managing cost on an ongoing basis
- Strong systems skills in excel. Expertise using SAP would be a major advantage, not a must
