Lung Nodule Nurse Navigator Role
As a Lung Nodule Nurse Navigator, you will play a vital role in guiding patients through their critical cancer screening journey from initial detection to treatment. You will coordinate care between specialist teams while providing essential support and education to patients navigating complex diagnostic pathways.
This position involves:
* Clinical Expertise: Providing direct, expert clinical nursing/midwifery care and select therapeutic interventions
* Case Management: Conducting individual case management for patients/clients and evaluating progress
* Nursing/Midwifery Advice: Contributing expert nursing/midwifery assessment and advice to local clinical teams to achieve integrated nursing/midwifery care within a risk management framework
* Therapeutic Interventions: Applying nursing/midwifery expertise to assess referrals, clients, select and implement different therapeutic interventions, and evaluate patient/client progress in a multidisciplinary primary health care setting
Requirements:
* Registration: Registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a current practicing certificate
* Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential, flexibility, innovation, and creativity
* Lung Cancer Expertise: Competence in lung cancer nursing practice in accordance with relevant standards and post-graduate qualifications in Acute Care Nursing (with an interest in Respiratory) and/or Cancer Nursing
