Payroll and Tax Reconciliation Specialist
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Payroll and Tax Reconciliation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our payroll operations, you will be responsible for managing garnishments, handling uncashed payroll checks, and performing monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reconciliations.
* Garnishment Processing & Compliance: Manage court-ordered wage garnishments; ensure accurate, timely deductions and remittance to agencies; respond to inquiries from employees, agencies, and internal teams; analyze audit output and drive improvements in garnishment processes.

* Monthly Payroll Tax Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll tax accounts monthly for accurate reporting; resolve discrepancies between payroll records and tax filings; support quarterly/annual filings (941, W-2, state reports); liaise with tax authorities and payroll providers on issues.
* Process Improvement & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all payroll tax and garnishment laws; maintain records and support audits; identify and implement process improvements and automation; provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting; collaborate cross-functionally for accurate financial processing.
Requirements:
* At least 4 years of work experience in multi-state payroll and tax compliance
* Experience with ADP Smart Compliance is a plus
* Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
* Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Demonstrated organizational abilities
* Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience leading a team
