The role
We're seeking to appoint a Manager to lead our Roads & Highways team in our Gold Coast office. Besides providing leadership and operational direction and helping us grow our business in the region you'll also provide influence on the national market sector portfolio including provision of expertise and client services relating to new work within the SEQLD region while being measured on the success of the national market sector performance.
Reporting to the State Sector Manager, QLD/NT for Roads & Highways, the role plays an important transition management piece in developing a national market sector focus while maintaining regional service excellence.
This position ensures the operational and technical excellence and performance of the Roads & Highways Sector with the effect of growing the SMEC Infrastructure function through optimal people, commercial, business development, client relationship management and project performance.
- Effective planning and management of the performance of the local team in line with the Market Sector and State plans and in support of SMEC's vision and values
- Undertake client relationship management and business development activities in line with the Market Sector and State plans
- Provide project governance and project management in the local office to achieve reliable project performance in terms of sophistication, timeliness and quality
- With support from State Sector Manager, provide leadership and development opportunities to the employees located in the local office to ensure cohesion, optimal performance, resourcing, retention and professional development
- Provide support to the State Sector Manager and manage activity to transition regional based business model to a national service model
The incumbent will role model SMEC values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.
