About the program
AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
Your responsibilities will include:
The Senior Cyber Architect’s primary responsibilities include:
* Manage regular cyber testing of systems to ensure continuous security monitoring. Define secure solutions for a wide range of contemporary container orchestration architectures.
* Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding security architecture, DevSecOps, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Assessment and Authorization of the Air6500 program ICT network, and resilience engineering services.
* Provide a Technical Information Assurance/ISSO capability across LMA programs.
* Apply broad systems engineering lifecycle experience to Cyber Security architectural design and development initiatives.
* Review security architectures and technical solution designs.
* Lead troubleshooting of technical issues and provide cyber SME support to the engineering team.
* Resolve programmatic issues and conflicts.
* Support planning, estimating, status monitoring, measurement, and reporting for Cyber Security activities.
* Mentor and train to build ICT/Cyber knowledge and capability.
* Analyze embedded security layers within WAN/LAN architectures to define system-of-system needs.
* Apply Cyber Security standards, directives, policies within architectural frameworks.
* Stay informed on cyber threats, technologies, and legislation to ensure best practices.
* Develop security requirements during the functional analysis phase.
* Review security audits and reports, and recommend improvements.
* Manage remediation of security risks and promote preventative mitigation activities including awareness and training.
* Liaise with security authorities, provide pre-audit advice, and offer T-ISO/ISSO capabilities.
About you:
* Deep understanding of cyber security and resilience.
* Experience with and implementing DevSecOps.
* Expertise in systems security engineering, interpreting requirements, and recommending measures.
* Knowledge of Australian Government security assessment/authorization processes.
* Experience with multi-factor authentication, SSO, identity management technologies.
* Understanding of cloud security architectures.
* Experience with cross domain solutions and multi-level security architectures.
* Knowledge of Virtualisation concepts and tools.
* Excellent liaison and communication skills.
* Understanding of US ITAR and export/import rules.
* Certifications (ISC2, GIAC, ISACA) or relevant experience in security design/operations (desired).
* Penetration testing or vulnerability assessment experience (desired).
* Exposure to AI & machine learning (desired).
* Experience with systems engineering lifecycle (desired).
* Experience in Australian Defence industry and ASDEFCON (desired).
* Experience with DOORS requirements management tool (desired).
* Knowledge of Configuration and Change Management (desired).
