Schedule: Expected to work weekdays Monday-Friday 07:00-20:00; Saturday 08:30-15:00; rostered weekends and on-call as required

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Scientist who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Performing routine testing and reporting in Haematology, Biochemistry, Blood Banking, Stat Microbiology, Andrology and FNA attendance in accordance with QML Pathology processes and procedures
* Assisting with Stock Control
* Maintaining records and recording results in line with protocols
* Maintaining and operating all equipment in line with protocols
* Maintaining current scientific knowledge
* Participating in routine and audit-related Quality Assurance activities
* Contributing to continuous improvement and development of new assays as required
* Training staff
* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary
* Compliance with Policies, Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance Processes
About you
Essential requirements include:
* Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline
* Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting
* Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification
* Perform duties with a high degree of independence and infrequent supervision
* Outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
* Willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
* Positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive team member
* Strong time‑management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
* Ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment
* Self‑initiative and problem‑solving capabilities
* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
* May require additional vaccination history and evidence for department‑specific vaccine‑preventative diseases
