Position Purpose
Our client is a high-growth, "Challenger" professional services firm currently executing a strategic build-out of their Indirect Tax practice in Western Australia. This is a rare opportunity to join a team in its foundational phase, offering a direct line to leadership and a seat at the table for long-term succession planning.
For those joining at the Senior Manager level, the firm provides a transparent, merit-based pathway to Partnership within a 5-year horizon.
Key Responsibilities
* Technical Advisory: Delivery of high-level GST and Indirect Tax advice to a diverse client base, with a focus on the Energy, Resources, and Infrastructure sectors.
* Team Build-out: Play a pivotal role in mentoring junior staff and shaping the operational culture of the new team.
* Client Management: Manage and grow relationships with key stakeholders, moving beyond compliance to act as a commercial business advisor.
* Succession Planning: Actively participate in the firm's leadership development program, preparing for future equity or salaried partnership.
* Project Delivery: Execute complex technical projects including transactional due diligence, GST reviews, and ATO engagement.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience: Demonstrated experience in VAT (UK/Ireland/EU/SA) or GST (Australia/NZ) within a mid-tier or Big 4 professional services firm.
* Growth Mindset: An entrepreneurial "builder" mentality; you enjoy the agility of a challenger firm and the occasional high-intensity periods required to win and deliver marquee mandates.
* Commercial Acumen: Ability to translate complex legislative requirements into practical, risk-based business solutions.
* Leadership: A desire to mentor and lead, coupled with the ambition to reach Partner level.
