Based in Baulkham Hills, we are looking for a responsible and experienced individual to join our team as a Laboratory Manager. Working independently this role reports to the Laboratory Services Manager and involves undertaking tasks in relation to leading a diverse and experienced team of employees to deliver in an industry leading laboratory.

**Your day will involve**:

- Actively promote and lead safe work practices and the adherence to relevant OH&S; management
- Develop and enhance the laboratory's capabilities, efficiency, and explore opportunities for new services to boost revenue and profitability.
- Manage and mentor a dedicated team of laboratory staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with NATA accreditation requirements
- P&L; responsibility for revenue, profitability and cost control for the laboratory

**What are we looking for?**
- A strong set of leadership skills
- A commitment to safety and quality
- Good financial acumen and experience in running a P&L;
- Nata signatory for a range on construction material tests
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in science or another relevant discipline e.g. Civil, Chemical or Materials - (desirable but not essential).
- Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data (especially Qest, Word, Excel etc).
- Good time management and organisational skills
- An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines
- Process improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) training
- Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards
- Good communication and organizational skills
