Indigenous Service Support Specialist
Job Description
The role of Indigenous Service Support Specialist is to provide culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families in accordance with relevant legislative provisions, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures, and contemporary best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist and support youth justice staff and relevant community stakeholders in culturally appropriate assessment, case planning, and interventions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families.
* Implement culturally appropriate individualized case plans through designing and implementing intervention strategies, negotiating with service providers, and linking clients to the services/supports they require.
* Consult and effectively work with relevant stakeholders including families, elders, other key community members, community agencies, and government departments to enhance the capacity of these stakeholders to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families subject to youth justice interventions.
* Undertake a range of record and information management tasks including maintenance of case notes and records, preparation of reports, and performance reporting.
* Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team involving a range of internal and external stakeholders and service providers to achieve quality casework outcomes.

* Relevant qualifications and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Demonstrated cultural capability and commitment to developing cultural capability.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
