The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Composites Assembly Technician to join our advanced manufacturing team. This role is responsible for performing composite manufacturing and assembly operations to a high standard using specialised tools and techniques in accordance with engineering specifications and production process data.

You'll work closely with engineering and production teams to develop and refine processes for new and existing products, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on role in a high-tech environment, where precision and quality are paramount.

Position Duties

* Perform composite manufacturing operations including lay-up, curing, trimming, and finishing to exacting standards.
* Produce moulds, jigs, and fixtures in consultation with engineering to support new product development.
* Control and manage composite materials, ensuring compliance with specialised handling and storage requirements.
* Assist in qualification of composite parts and materials, including flammability testing.
* Interpret and contribute to production process data such as laminate schedules, cure cycles, and material specifications.
* Report and resolve production issues, including performing complex rework operations when required.
* Maintain accurate records and traceability of all production activities.
* Conduct verification and quality checks using industry-standard tools and processes.
* Collaborate with team members to achieve delivery targets and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
* Mentor and support team members in learning specialist skills.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

* Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications in composites or advanced manufacturing.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in composite manufacturing, preferably within aerospace or automotive industries.
* Strong understanding of composite materials, processes, and quality standards.
* Ability to interpret technical documentation, 3D models and work instructions.
* Proven problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
