Position Overview: Field Service Representative
Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) is delivering world‐class artillery systems, armoured vehicles, and mission systems to the Australian Defence Force. As a Field Service Representative (FSR), you will play a critical role in ensuring the performance, availability, and sustainment of Hanwha and Commonwealth-owned mission systems.
Reporting to the Field Service Representative Supervisor, this role provides specialist repair, maintenance, diagnostic, and engineering support, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Hanwha-designed equipment. You will support both barracks and field operations, contribute to training delivery, and provide technical assistance across multiple HDA workstreams.
This position includes local, interstate, and international travel, as well as fieldwork in varying operational environments.
Primary Duties
* Serve as the primary point of contact for Maintenance Support technical issues
* Liaise with Commonwealth Systems Program Office (SPO), internal engineers, and external stakeholders
* Conduct engineering and technical tasks in support of the fleet
* Perform Maintenance Engineering analysis to define and validate work requirements
* Provide technical and administrative support to resolve maintenance, training, and quality issues
* Assist with engineering changes, modifications, and retrofits to fielded vehicles
* Extract, analyse, and interpret vehicle telematics and HUMS data
* Support Training workstreams with Introduction Into Service (IIS) and sustainment courses
* Contribute to RODUM responses and technical investigations
* Develop maintenance Statements of Work and technical task specifications
* Support Help Desk operations and logistics support analysis inputs
* Ensure compliance with HSE and Security requirements at HDA and customer locations
* Undertake additional duties within technical competency as directed
Qualifications
Mandatory
* Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Relevant Qualifications
* Australian Citizenship and eligibility for NV1 security clearance
* Ability to travel and work flexibly, including weekends
* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Experience
* Experience in a workshop maintenance environment
* Army/ADF vehicle maintenance background (highly regarded)
* Ability to coordinate complex maintenance tasks in high‐risk environments
* Experience providing technical support in barracks and field settings
* Training and assessment experience for on‐the‐job technical competency
* Knowledge of Support and Test Equipment used for Defence platforms
