Oral Health Therapist
We are looking for an enthusiastic Oral Health Therapist to join us in this crucial role to provide a high standard of general oral health care including oral health education to patients across MLHD. You will get the opportunity to travel all over our district in a mobile dental van setting, visiting schools and other external locations including hospitals and remote community / council facilities.
Our Team: Our Mobile Dental Van team consists of 3 staff members – 1 Oral Health Therapist, 1 Dental Assistant and 1 Administration Officer. The Dental Van team are part of the Wagga Wagga Cluster with Wagga Wagga Base Hospital being your base location
As the sole practitioner and Oral Health Therapist in the Dental Van Team you need to have confidence and previous clinical experience as an Oral Health Therapist.
This is great opportunity to make a real difference in our community members lives. You will work with children in school-based settings and adults in community locations – providing Dental assessment and treatment. While not out on the road within the community you may also be rostered to fixed clinicians in MLHD Oral Health Facilities to help the wider Oral Health Team.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
1. Hold a current AHPRA with the Dental Board of Australia.
2. Understanding of and commitment to a preventative/population health approach to patient care.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively and sensitively with a wide range of individuals.
4. Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances with the Health Service and overnight stays at health service expense.
5. Willingness to take shared responsibility for safe driving of various fleet vehicles, including a 4.5 tonne Mobile Dental Van (Class C licence compatible).
