We're looking for skilled HC Truck Drivers to join our Burnie depot as part of a fast-paced, professional and supportive team. This is a full-time, permanent role for drivers who take pride in their work, value safety, and want to be part of something bigger than just the next delivery.
About the Role
As a Truck Driver with Strait Link, you'll play a vital role in connecting Tasmanian businesses and communities. You'll be the face of Strait Link on the road and at customer sites, delivering freight safely, efficiently and with professionalism.
This role offers steady work, modern systems, and a team that genuinely respects the importance of good drivers.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Representing Strait Link professionally at customer sites
* Picking up and delivering general and express freight safely and on time
* Loading, unloading and securing freight in line with safety regulations
* Completing scanning and Proof of Delivery processes accurately
* Managing consignment paperwork, manifests and delivery notes
* Following OH&S requirements, road rules and customer site procedures
* Ensuring freight is packaged, restrained and transported safely
About You
* Current HC licence (manual preferred but not essential)
* Minimum 2 years' experience driving heavy vehicles
* Experience in pickup and delivery freight operations
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Solid understanding of load restraint practices
* Familiarity with radio communication systems (desirable)
* Safety-first mindset and pride in your work
* Experience with Load Restraint Systems and knowledge of National Transport Commission Load Restraint Guidelines will be highly regarded.
