We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced State Manager / Construction Manager to manage our established QLD team based out of our office in Eagle Farm.
We are an award-winning Landscape Construction company with over 37 years' experience. We specialise in large scale landscape and civil construction projects for builders, government bodies, developers, architects, and contractors.
Key responsibilities
* Provide hands on leadership to the QLD team, understand key issues, drive improvements, identify resourcing needs and motivate high performing teams.
* Support Business Development activities, including
* Identifying opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
* Identifying potential customers/decision makers and build relationships with new customers to help generate new business opportunities.
* Manage Team leaders and site staff ensuring workloads are completed meeting financial targets and quality outcomes in line with project specific obligations.
* Driving financial forecasts and budgets, to ensure that all contract work is completed in a professional and timely manner whilst meeting estimated project budgets.
* General operation tasks including.
* Oversee the update of weekly programmes
* Reporting on pipeline / forecast to senior management
* Submit job profit/loss information to senior management
* Manage Client and subcontractor invoicing
* Staff timesheet approvals
* Ensure contractual compliance in terms of EOT/NODS
* Promote compliance with relevant WHS legislation requirements to promote a safe work environment for all team members
Skills and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Operations / Divisional Management role, preferably within a similar industry
* Knowledge and understanding of the Landscape Construction and Maintenance industry
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Well-developed people management, mentoring and leadership ability.
* Ability to prioritise tasks & work in a self-directed manner
* Be client centric whilst continuously seeking ways to improve or exceed client expectations
